Thank you to all athletes, race officials, family and support for another memorable race!
On the morning of the race, we woke up to thunder, lightning and torrential downpours. We continued to set-up the race hoping that the weather would cooperate. Thankfully, the rain subsided and the cloud cover remained. However, the storm had done its damage. The course markers had been washed away. Motorcycle escorts for the bike leg had cancelled due to wet road conditions. And the water temperature was a chilly 57 degrees. In addition, we had to deal with a power outage that affected the timing mechanisms for the race and the information had to be manually re-entered.
The athletes took all of this in stride. They went out there to compete, continue their training or just have fun with their teammates. Thank you to the athletes for your patience and your camraderie!
Sincerely,
Hap and Frances Pratt
